OBJECTIVES

Nkumu Fed-Fed's strategic education program aims to ensure that all children, particularly girls and marginalized groups, have equal access to quality education, as outlined in SDG 4. The program seeks to:

  • Enroll and Retain Vulnerable Children: Remove barriers to education for vulnerable children, especially girls and marginalized groups.
  • Promote Gender Equality: Foster an environment that encourages equal participation of girls and boys, challenging stereotypes.
  • Support Children with Disabilities: Provide targeted resources to economically disadvantaged families and marginalized communities.
  • Enhance Employability: Equip youth with vocational training to promote economic independence.
  • Encourage Lifelong Learning: Offer opportunities for continued education and skills development beyond traditional schooling.

EARLY INITIATIVES

Collaborating With Local Schools to Identify Barriers to Education:

  • Establish scholarship programs for girls and disadvantaged children.
  • Introduce vocational training programs to equip youth with essential skills.
  • Support infrastructure development in schools, such as classrooms and sanitation facilities.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Scholarships and Awards:

  • Provided 100 scholarships annually for needy secondary school students.
  • Awarded over 400 scholarships to underprivileged primary school children.
  • Offered scholarships to 50 meritorious secondary school students in Bali Nyonga.

Infrastructural Development:

  • Constructed six modern classrooms and a headmaster's office in 2006.
  • Built three modern toilets and three drinking water boreholes in schools.
  • Supported various schools with furniture and educational supplies.

Capacity Building:

  • Engaged and retrained PTA Teachers in two schools.
  • Trained secondary school teachers in pedagogy and technology.
  • Organized holiday schools for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
